Stoddard Chiropractic - Charlene R. Stoddard DC, CCSP® What to Expect

Our goal is to eliminate any uneasiness and apprehension and to make you feel right at home. This starts the
moment you pick up the phone and call one of our knowledgeable staff members, Kathy or Ellen. You may even
request to speak to Dr. Charlene Stoddard if you have specific questions regarding our practice, techniques and
how they may apply to your specific condition.

Since chiropractic care involves a number of visits, with each one building on the progress made on the one
before, it is important that our relationship be built on open dialogue and communication. We’ve found that one
of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in detail and leave no question
unanswered.

The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as

simple as that.

So, check us out here. Get to know us. Then, call us to make an appointment so we can get to know you and

get you on your way to recovery. We offer all new patients a complimentary consultation with the Doctor to

make sure chiropractic care is right for you.

Your First Visit

Your first visit will consist of being greeted by Kathy or Ellen. You may occasionally even get to meet my husband,

Evan as well (sometimes we have to pull him off the golf course though!). You will be asked to fill out a "new patient packet". Normally it will take between 5 and 15 minutes to fill out, depending on how much information you have for us.

You will then be greeted by my staff and escorted to a treatment room where we will show you a short 7 minute video on what chiropractic is all about. After that I will come in and introduce myself and I will then conduct a short interview with you. It is during this interview that you will be able to tell me about the problems you are experiencing, how long you have been experiencing them and any possible causes of these problems. This is also the time that many of my new patients ask any questions about me, the clinic or chiropractic care and treatment in general.

I will then perform a comprehensive orthopedic and neurological examination and will discuss with you the results of what I find. At that time, I will make a determination if x-rays are necessary to further assess your condition and take them on-site if that is needed. Depending on the severity of your condition and the results of my examination, you may or may not receive your first adjustment that visit. The entire first visit is usually between 45 minutes to an hour.

On your way out, Kathy or Ellen will discuss your insurance benefits if you are expecting your insurance to pay for your care. Co-payments and co-insurance payments are expected at time of service. If you are not covered by insurance for chiropractic care, we offer affordable cash pricing and take Visa and MasterCcard. By requiring payment at the time of service, we are able to keep our costs down, which in turn keeps your cost of care down.

Second Visit

On the second visit, we will do what we call a “Report of Findings”. Typically, this is where we discuss the results of the tests and x-rays and map out a plan of action to first, get you out of pain and then second, to keep you out of pain. I will also treat you on that day as well.

Kathy or Ellen will then schedule your next appointment(s) per the treatment plan we will have mapped out. We have found when we schedule ahead we are able to make appointments that are convenient for your schedule.

Subsequent & Regular Visits

After the investment of time needed on the first and second appointments, many new patients become concerned that every visit will be lengthy. That is not the case.

A typical office, depending on the amount of services provided, your visit may require just five to ten minutes or if physiotherapy is needed, up to 30 minutes.

But don’t think the shortness of a regular visit lessens its value. With the groundwork and initial work completed, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way.

Like regular workouts at the gym, each appointment builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and you can lose the momentum and traction we have gained necessary to make the needed changes.

We recognize your time is valuable. So we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
